Rose Garden

This is an example of a movement improv practice that I created in June in Main, in collaboration with a pianist and the beautiful rose garden. The footage reflects the embodiment of my practice in both performing arts and mindfulness. The level of freedom that I seek for a creative space is this and more with other collaborators. This practice helps to develop embodiment of knowledge and non-conceptual expression. (June 26, 2022)

Exploring Tutting with Divine Keys:
A Choreographic Journey Inspired by the Golden Ratio

In this video, I incorporate elements of tutting while dancing to the song "Divine Keys" created by LA Buckner and Nahre Sol. The song itself is crafted with elements inspired by the Golden Ratio and Fibonacci Sequence. As the music progresses, I synchronize my choreography to a 9-point grid, mirroring the song's initial motif. At the 216th 8th note, known as the Phi moment, I begin to expand beyond the confines of the original grid system, exploring new movement possibilities. (October , 2022)

Mathematical Melodies: Exploring Pell Sequence, Iroha Song, and Pentatonic Scale

Dive into the intricate world of mathematical music with this composition, where the Pell Sequence, Iroha Song, and Pentatonic scale intertwine to create a unique auditory experience. The Pell Sequence, known for its rhythmic structure (0, 1, 2, 5, 12, 29,...), forms the backbone of the composition's rhythm. The Iroha Song, a classic Japanese poem encompassing all 47 traditional Japanese syllables, serves as the lyrical foundation, with each syllable represented as a quarter note. Accompanied by harmonies on the 2nd, 5th, 12th, and 29th quarter notes, the Iroha Song takes on a new dimension within the Pentatonic scale, evoking a sense of nostalgia and tradition.

Throughout the piece, ascending Pentatonic scales, inspired by the concept of the Silver Circle, add depth and complexity to the melodic structure. Contrasting the mathematical rhythm, the keyboard improvisations resonate with the inherent beauty of the Pentatonic scale. Geometrically inspired chords further enhance the composition's rich texture.

Unbeknownst to the listener, the composition reaches its crescendo in the 30th bar out of 49, marking a Phi moment that adds an exhilarating twist to the auditory journey.
